The Arabian Tone Wall Hanging Free Crochet Pattern

FREE CROCHET PATTERN

Usually, I get inspired and choose my colors from the surrounding nature and the places I travel to or even dream of going to, and because this year we were not able to travel much, so I thought about decorating the house in all the ways that would bring joy and happiness. I chose this color palette for the fall season, it reminds me of the leaves colors in the fall and the light breezes that accompany the scattering of leaves 馃崅馃崅

This wall hanging would also be the perfect piece in your fall market inventory.
This pattern is for intermediate crocheters who are comfortable working with more than one color.

Pattern Notes:

路 The Pattern is written in US terms.

路 The Wall Hanging is worked in rows.

路 The Wall Hanging is worked from the bottom up.

路 The first stitch of each row should be placed into the same stitch as the turning chain.

. The turning chain doesn鈥檛 count as 1st stitch of the row.

路 The odd rows are the right rows and the even rows will be the wrong side.

路 The pattern is written as a color abbreviation, for example, 10 (A) means 10 centers single crochet in the color Light Cream.

路 The Wall Hanging is worked in 鈥Center Single Crochet / Waistcoat Stitch鈥 but the first & the last stitch in the row is worked in Single Crochet (to make the edge straight).

路 Color change is made with the final yarn over and pull through of the last stitch before the color change.  For Example: with color A, insert hook in stitch, yarn over, pull up a loop, with color B, yarn over and draw through both loops on hook, proceed with color B stitches.

路 The wall Hanging is worked up using the Intarsia Crochet method, but remember you can choose your comfort method as you want, so you can work using Tapestry crochet method instead.

路 For Intarsia, you will not carry the non-working yarn. Let the yarn hang from the last stitch. You will probably have a bobbin or ball of yarn attached to each color block section of your project.

路 For Tapestry, the unused yarn is worked over by the working yarn. Please hold your unused yarn on the wrong side of the work.

>> Center single crochet is worked similarly to a single crochet stitch. The only difference is where you insert your hook in the stitch of the previous row or round.
Center single crochet (CSC):
Insert hook through the center of the next stitch (between the 鈥淰鈥 shape rather than through the top 2 loops), Yarn over, pull up a loop, Yarn over, and draw through both loops on the hook.

Chart

Finishing:

  • Attaching the wooden dowel/tree branch:

After finishing the last row in your wall Hanging, don鈥檛 fasten off or cut your yarn, just continue and work SC around the branch/dowel:

1-   Insert the hook into the first stitch and under the wood dowel, grab the yarn in the other hand.

2-   Yarn Over, then pull through the loop and repeat till you reach the last stitch.

3-   Now, chain about 50 - 60 chains to make the hanging Strap.

4-   Attach the last chain to the first chain on the dowel with Slip Stitch.

5-   Fasten Off and Wave ends.

Attaching the Tassels:

1 鈥 Wrap yarn around a piece of cardboard, about 50-60 times.
2 鈥 Slip the yarn off the cardboard being careful to keep the loops neat.
3 鈥 Take a piece of yarn about 10 inches long and tie it nice and tight, maybe even take the yarn around a second time to really secure the loops, you can slip a bead onto it if you want.

4 鈥 Cut the bottom of the loops in half.
5 鈥 Take another piece of yarn about 18 inches long (you can choose another color for a nice look) and tie it gently around the body of the tassel.

6 鈥 Secure the knot, by Pulling the ends through the center with the needle or crochet hook. This should disguise the tied ends.

7 鈥 Now trim the bottom of the tassel so that the ends are all even.

8 鈥 Make three of them and attach them to the bottom of your wall hanging.

*Note: my tassels are about 10 inches / 24 cm long, you can make them as long as you want by adjusting the size of the cardboard.

And You Are DONE
Happy Crocheting!
